We're on the air. It's still a work in progress, but they decided to turn the transmitter on today for a "soft launch".
If you're in the greater Northwest Indiana area, you can tune in to 89.1 FM.
If you're not, we're online at http://www.thelakeshorefm.com.
You can hear me at various times between 5 and 9 am (CST). I'd love to hear your feedback.

Ryan,
I got an error when I tried to open the feed with Windows Media Player to listen.
I don't know if its because you guys arn't on the air right this moment or if there is a codec problem of some sort.
Doh almost forgot to include the error message.
"Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted."
Yeah. I'm getting that too. I guess I should have checked before I posted. If nothing else, it'll give me something to tell the engineers tomorrow morning.
False alarm. We arrived at the studio this morning to learn that we will not be on the air today. I'll let you know when we're fully up and running.
Ryan,
Okdokie keep us posted!
I've been told Friday is the day. Keep your collective fingers crossed.
So what kind of a radio station is this again? Music ..politics ...games:-).....if we win do you deliver...lol I am kidding but looking forward to listening...
Like stars across the sky … . E per avvincere ….. Tu dovrai vincere ...
We were born to shine …All of us here because we believe......
It's affiliated with National Public Radio, but won't sound like a traditional NPR station. The mornings will be all news focused on Northwest Indiana. There will be some eclectic NPR programming from 9-4 that features music and talk. 4-6 will be local talk with news and traffic. 6-7 is a local sports call-in program. At 7 there will be music (mostly light adult contemporary) or sports programming (IU Basketball, high school sports, Gary Railcats baseball, etc.)
The station is designed to fill a void created by being in a media market dominated by Chicago stations.
Ryan,
You might want to let the engineers know that I am still getting the same error message.
Will do. I guess getting the terrestrial signal up and running has been the top priority. I'll let you know when the streaming commences.
