The theory of evolution.......

I recently had a conversation with a friend who told me that I hadn't evolved yet. Evolved. WTF does that mean? I'm not a Neanderthal, nor am I an organism still stuck in the primordial ooze from whence evolutionists believe we sprang from. So what did he mean?
He meant that I was superficial. That I was still stuck on appearance. He was trying to tell me that I couldn't look past what is the exterior of a person and accept someone, and even care for them, for who they are on the inside. He was quite wrong. I've always chosen the people that come into my circle based on who they are, not how they are seen. And no, I'm not evolved. If anything I'm devolved.
Think about this. We have all these recreations of what man looked like many thousands of years ago (and I have to say if God made man in his image, he's pretty damn ugly.) What was there to be attracted to, judging by the images that have been recreated? They were dirty and pretty well unkempt. They had crazy hair and goofy bone structure. Most likely they didn't figure out how to remove the excessive facial hair and looked like big old shaggy dogs. While shaggy dogs can be cute, you don't want to touch them when they are all matted up and smelly. And I imagine the women were pretty much the same way. While I'm sure that they did have some kind of instinct about personal hygiene, just as most animals do, I'm sure it didn't include soap and colognes. And yet, they were able to attract one another and reproduce.
During the many years since those first men and women were walking the earth, there has been evolution. With all this evolving, people have become superficial. Beauty is important to many. It's only with age and the loss of their own attractiveness, do people become deeper. Well some people, not all. That would explain why an 80 year old woman would still be having plastic surgery. (I got news for her, quit that, you look like someone stretched your face so tight your teeth should be popping out.)
Since my conversation with this friend I've gone over what was said several times. While I, and many others may want to include beautiful people in our lives, and appear that way to others. I've always known that does not last. I've always been more interested in people, both male and female who I feel good being around. They make me laugh, they stimulate my mind, they don't put on airs, they are just real people who accept themselves for who they are. So I do too. I've learned over the years that attractiveness is more a state of your mind than what is visual. I've met people that I could hardly stand to look at, and yet, over time, the more I get to know them, the better looking they become. Because of what they put out there of themselves. I do look beyond what can be seen with the eyes. Though I still have to draw the line at smell. LOL I have pulled out pictures of the men in my life and took a good look at them. Nope, no superficial indications there. All but one of them wouldn't have garnered a second look if I just passed them going down the street. But they became people that I cared about despite not being initially attractive. I'd say I've definitely devolved, to the point where everyone has a chance to win a spot in my life if they wish, just by being themselves. It's true that beauty is only skin deep, but ugly is to the bone. And the most beautiful people can be the ugliest. I'll take the beauty from within. If that's what he meant by being evolved. I'm already there.

Dang you are good.
Was you reffering to me when you wrote
"I've met people that I could hardly stand to look at"
Best thing I have ever read on AFP "(and I have to say if God made man in his image, he's pretty damn ugly.) "
I have my doubts about churches and stuff like that.
If all living creatures that live on this earth go to heaven. Then there sure must be a lot of Chickens, Cows and Pigs in heaven.
Have a tremendous life from here on out. Remember there has got to be somebody somewhere that is always thinking the best for you.
I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..

You keep telling me "dang you are good". What exactly is it that I am good at?
And no, I wasn't referring to you, but there is this fella that I've known for about 9 years now that could be called THE ugly stick. And he's one of the best friends I have around town. Sometimes it takes a lot to look past what mother nature did to him to be able to see the good in his heart. I'm just glad that I'm not so superficial that I didn't give him the chance to be my friend.
Is it T_M
You are good at this writing thing. I enjoy reading your stories. Plus you have a good heart.
I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..
I know what CC was thinking when we met, talked for a minute.. It is OK CC, I understand.. I'm not much to look at, I'm short, ugly, have facial hair that don't get much grooming, baths are few & far between.. Kinda Shaggy looking.. I understand why you kept looking away, I've grown accustom to this, mostly an everyday reaction I have learned to accept..
With out us short, smelly, ugly people.
Many would know what tall & beautiful really is..
It is not length of life, but depth of life.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
How a Man plays the game shows something of his character
How he loses shows all of it..
Oh just hush up.
It is not length of life, but depth of life.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
How a Man plays the game shows something of his character
How he loses shows all of it..
That was pretty good. LOL
So, you really liked it.. Good...
It's not easy being Me..
It is not length of life, but depth of life.

How he loses shows all of it..
Evolution is a matter of opinion....What?? Just because I do not do the same things as you? Have the same belief's? That is what makes us all different...That was just another way of someone telling you that they think that you are not as evolved as them....and I am sure that if he used the words that he wanted to it would be not as "good" or not as "experienced"... and People that think that unless you are REALLY into what they are and who they are....or what they are trying to show you...are not as EVOLVED as you.....and not worth your time.
