the status thing is kinda like that. a 'shout box' i think is what you're talking about? i'll take it into consideration. not sure that and the status thing would be needed, though?
But, the status thing is too many clicks away and on allows 5 respondants at a time. Not bitching, just pointing out....... the facts ma'am, just the facts!

no, i should, but i don't. i most likely will for the big upgrade to Drupal 6 ... waiting on a few modules for that. should be a speed/efficiency increase when that upgrade happens.
i do have a lot of other sites where i test stuff too. not to mention work done for the occasional paying client. ;)
btw, it seems the notify of new comments is working but they're not instantaneous. should go out once an hour? i may theme how the message looks too - i don't like the subject not in the subject line.
also, it doesn't appear there's a page that lists everything you're subscribed to?
I haven't gotten an email yet tonight. Unless they went to my spam... I havent checked gmail, just my crackberry.
