I like the system... I really do. I think it would drive more traffic into the site from members as well.
I just don't like that in the period of 2 hours I got like 20 emails! I know on the php bb's they don't send you another notice, until you log in and check the messages.

it is a pretty standard feature on most boards. Drupal is called "community plumbing"... heh. that's what runs AFP.
anyway, thanks for the input. getting people back is good. i recently started sending out reminders for absent members.
