Whether you're browsing AFP for the first time or considering it as your new "online home" for communication with the community -- welcome! As for now, if you sign-up you get an account that doesn't have some of the extra features. If you can have someone vouch for you or you post a few good posts, I'll get that taken care of ASAP. Anything else you don't like (the navigation, it being hard to get around on the site) - LET ME KNOW. The members here already can attest to the fact that I listen and try to implement good ideas. Beyond that, let me welcome you to AFP. Hopefully some of the new members and old members can use this thread to say hello and get familiar with AFP. I can't believe how many bad decisions the ole HB is making. This may top the list... unless they have something else up their sleeve. I bet it was a financial decision, though? Do we need a thread to talk about why it happened? Anyway... welcome aboard!
Your friendly neighborhood publisher, |

Hey, Thanks for the invite. I am from the Herald Bulletin.com forums. I don't usually post often, just reading mostly. Since the sight will be shut down soon I just wanted to find another place to go for the Anderson area. See ya around! and thanks

Welcome to the Anderson Free Press forums Mint!
kpaul, I don't think you need to start any threads about HM/HB. First of all, one has already been made. Voices are already speaking up about what is thought in that thread. Secondly, is it really right to sit and gossip in several threads about the shortcomings of the HB, on this site. There are some that will say it's a case of competition and who is doing a better online job of attracting people. It's a matter of freedom of choice. People will come here and stay if it's the type of place they want to post in. If they see more of the same old here, they will not stay.
People have mentioned on HM about not being allowed to 'advertise' other forums on the unknownzone forum. It's not really so much about not advertising, as it is, if you are badmouthing another site, people don't know which site you are talking about. I think it's a smart way to go. Let it rest. It's been on life support for awhile now. Leave one thread devoted to discussion and don't start more threads where essentially the same thing will be said over and over.
There, you have my opinion on it.
Hi
Full Of Sunshine!
Thanks, CC. At least I wasn't spamming over there as bad as some others. ;)
As always, though, your input is appreciated.
This was meant as more of a welcome thread where old AFP members could share tips/advice for newcomers in Wave #3...
New to the AFP Forum, long time reader though.Read the HB forum for over two years, enjoyed many of he posters, and met a couple in person,by accident of course but truly enjoyed getting to talk with them..Hope to be able to add to any content.

If you haven't found it yet, the Tracker page is one of the most popular on the site for those trying to keep up. Well that and the Scanner News. And Anna. And. Well... ;)
