Let's give a big AFP welcome to Joski (Jomo Williams) who runs CityNFocus (http://www.citynfocus.com) and is also handling advertising for me at this time.

If you're interested in advertising at AFP (and supporting the cause!) or know someone who is, please contact Jomo (Joski) Williams...

Thanks.

We're on the way up (all the stats haven't been calculated for today yet...)

Interested in getting your business in front of these people? Get in now at ground floor pricing and lock it in for multiple months as we grow...

Let me shake this up a little bit too - if you know a business owner, let them know about AFP and ask if they'd be interested in advertising. If we land a sale maybe we could give a percentage of the sale to the person who set-up the meeting between the business owner and Jomo Williams?

What says the community?

As traffic grows, I need more resources. Instead of charging for the content (or ability to comment), I want to be supported by advertisers. Unlike other media in the area, I'm using a third party - a separate business - to conduct my advertising sales.

Any thoughts? Should I step off the soap box and just go back to fixing bugs and learning the fine art of crafting editorials? (No bites at all on my first attempt! ;)

Thanks,
kpaul

Any other stats you want to see? Can't promise I'll always share them, but I want to share for the time being. So, if you're interested, just ask - what types of browser hit the site, what cities people come from, what keywords people use to find AFP...

Ummm...While I'm a small business owner, I don't really have a need to advertise right now, but in the future I MAY need to advertise for an employee (i.e. CDL driver)...are you going to have those kinds of classifieds? Or simply sale of goods and services?

AFP Users,

I would like to say I am glad to be a part of a great website that is for THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE. I commend K Paul for his great work and his dedication to providing rich and meaningful journalism. It takes a dedicated person full of patience and creativity.

I am very excited to work with our neighbors in Anderson providing rich meaningful advertisements for Anderson Businesses and giving them great exposure on Anderson Free Press. The hard work provided by K Paul with AFP will allow the relationship to go over smoothly since AFP is the one of the top news outlets in the area.

Everybody will see me very soon in your area, so don't forget to honk your horns or give me a big WAVE. Thanks a million. Don't forget to visit AFP on a daily basis for great news and information about Anderson Indiana.

Classifieds online will most likely always be free. Eventually when we do print, there will most likely be a small charge to get them in the printed edition.

Not sure a banner ad (like the ones on the top left - the small square ones...) would really help you. So, I guess I'm recommending you don't advertise with us? ;)

I eventually want to do a full fledged employment site for just Indiana - at about half the cost of Monster, Career Builder, local newspapers, etc. That's in the plan...

Thanks.

Off, but on, topic.

What would it take for AFP to get a local weekly radio show?

Hit a new audience, get more traffic coming to the site possibly, increase your advertising sales and your advertising traffic.

Is there any outlets for this besides WHBU even?

There's an online site that I've thought about working with before...

You can here me on one show there...

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/meetthebloggers/2007/09/02/web-20-and-socia...

I'm about 10 minutes in or so??

This would allow us to do a 'live' call-in show and stream it across the web...

Maybe we should start a new thread with this?

As for going over the actual airwaves, I know it's quite expensive for licenses, etc., and you have to mess with the FCC, I believe... Maybe long term that's something we could do??

What I was thinking though, was like, a one hour slot of time from a local radio station? WHBU or another Anderson station. I don't know what the rates are for something like that though. New thread if we want to talk about it more.
