Any donations will help get me into an apartment in Anderson ASAP... and they'll help keep this site going. It's expensive, but worth it, imho.

Thanks!

Oh...you are moving to Anderson?  But what about the newsroom over there in Elwood?

You know....there is going to be a duplex over here next door to me going up for rent soon.  He's going to be asking for $400 a month from what I understand.   He's remodeling right now.  There's a little more to the deal...but I don't want to talk about it here.

I have two currently. If I get one more the free press project will have to go away. ;)

People support PBS, so why not the free press?

If that's not working for you, maybe you should try a regular job with a steady income, kpaul.  I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, but you have to have money to live and it seems like you've been struggling for a while now.

If you're serious about the question, I'd say because it's an internet forum, much like any other internet forum, and they're all free.  So why would anyone pay for something they can get for free?

It's more than a 'forum'... Might not seem that way now, but it is. The interviews with Ockomon are just one thing that separates us from some of the other forums.

If you don't want to donate, that's fine.  I appreciate that you participate here.

Again, though, like PBS, I think I'm offering a service to the community.

My fear is that with a 'real' 9 to 5 job this site will wither and die because I won't be able to do the things I have planned for it.

Stay tuned in the next week or so. I have someone helping out with some things behind the scenes and things should really get rolling soon.

A lot may see AFP as only 'forums' at the moment, but I hope some of you see the potential for what it can be.

I know it's more than a forum, but news can also be gotten for free elsewhere.   To get people to pay for something, you have to give them something they can't get for free anywhere else.
