Rebel With a Poetic Cause (A "Do you just make up the rules as you go, or what?!?" Haiku)
What the hell is this? Haiku CANNOT be restrained! It's Wednesday SOMEWHERE!!!
I have spoken!
minus a bajillion points! ;)
I've been comatose
Someone, please, tell me quickly:
It is Wednesday, right?
Something witty and relevant.
Not in this world. Until next Wednesday, that is.
IT'S WEDNESDAY A$$HOLES! (An Irish, get yer but in here and write a haiku haiku)
We forgot last week It's too early to think straight Will someone please help?
I didn't know how many haiku we are allowed to submit. Hopefully I didn't go over the limit. Below are several that I wrote a few years ago....
pink sedums the curbside puddle a hawk's bath
trail of wet leaves three pairs of bulging eyes watch us detour
ice-patched river the bare trees covered with crows
browning plants discarding my son's wrapper until eight snails
scarlet tree— nearing the last haiku the passing cricket
afternoon sun— result of wind first goldenrod
Monday morning— brushing with scraper the golden leaves
falling leaves the great horned owl snatches a good dream
once off-limits preserve... the mayor cuts the ribbon to a deer stamped path
four-leaf clover the heron's shadow on our feet
dried sunflower... a slug's path glitters on morning glory hearts
my husband fishes as an osprey hits the lake... both empty-handed
cricket songs the dead sunflower a spider's anchor
July surprise— a heron stands by snow bank with zoomed in photo
work parking lot— to the Indian's flute the mantis prays
hole in ice a fisherman's small catch the heron's lunch
the robin's tune— it halts what I am doing at the stove
nature center teaching my kids to make twine my 3rd grade teacher
nice! welcome to the site.
