How to Get a Job in Anderson Indiana and Madison County - BrainStorming Thread

Ok, so more than one person is looking for work. Thought it might be nice to start a thread for people to post tips on job leads they hear about, interview tips, questions, etc. etc. Who knows what it may turn into. This is AFP.

My son recently got hired at the IBM call center in Daleville. I will find out where to apply and post it on here. Basic knowledge of PCs,laptops,mp3 players,etc. They do provide some training.
I was also working on a project at the Sallie Mae facility in Fishers and was told they need people at their Muncie location. Not sure how to apply for those positions though.

leaves me out...I am computer stupid and I have a mp3 player for when I am walking...and I don't even know how it works...somebody else has to turn it on for me and get it going...LOL

Ok, zia. So training is out? Weren't you in school? Or something part time while you're in school?
What types of work are you looking for exactly, maybe we could help.
The IBM Call Center thing is through a temp agency, not Pro Resources, but I am drawing a blank on the name of it.
The Sallie Mae thing is pretty good, you start out getting paid an hourly rate, but then after your xx amount of days are in, you change to commission based on how many people you get to pay their bills. Apply directly for them, my cousin works in the Muncie office, and she likes it.
I think it is all about your attitude and who you know of course, knowing someone always helps!

yes KPaul I am still in school. I just don't know about computers. I am really computer stupid...you just don't know. Now give me some criminal justice stuff...or medical...or even some English comp or a paper to write, and I can do good. Not saying that training is out...I just do not want to be calling people about their bills. I hate it when someone like that calls me and I don't wanna be the bad guy. @ Zia - As you can see from my blog the other day, if you can write you can make money online. You have to be versatile and fast, though.
Does Ivy Tech have some kind of job/lead board on their website or on campus?
What are some other ideas for Zia, guys?
