ACSC Board Meeting is canceled!
|
Tonight's school board meeting has been canceled and rescheduled for next Tuesday. Tell everyone you know, Email everyone you know, Facebook everyone you know! I *assume* that this will also be announced on the HB website and on the TV stations, but I don't want anyone to get out on the roads to go to the meeting when it is canceled. I have to say, school has been canceled on meeting days before, but this is the first time I can remember a meeting being canceled due to weather, in fact, I can specifically remember a couple meetings where we should have not been out on the road.

Not to hijack your thread, but I also got a phone call from the schools that the meeting for 8th grade parents was also cancelled tonight. I love the automated phone system and wish they would use it more often. Maybe they could use it to tell people about the school board meeting being cancelled.
Once again...if only I had the control over such things....

I cannot, nor will I attempt to, speak for any other member of the board or administration. Sometimes I forget myself and speak as a parent only, a parent who loves and protects and is very bias toward my children.ACS postpones Tuesday's board meeting

Tobi,
I have a couple of questions.
1) Why are we (the board) having discussions on mascots? The school is being called Anderson. It should represent the city and the name does. The Indian has been the mascot forever. But IMO why spend the money we don't have to possibly change mascots. Seems to me that if you change mascots then you have to change emblames and such every where. On uniforms, documents, and so on. Doesn't make sense.
2) Why is there any question of the sale of Park Place Elementry school. This should be a no brainer.Hopefully this is just a formality and there is no problem selling the building.
Great questions.
Well, good questions.
We already approved the sale of Park Place, in theory. This month we have the actual contract to approve. Yes, mostly a formality.
As far as mascots...this is a subject that the board has not discussed at all. We can't just make the decision with no discussion at all. Sometimes there is another thought out there that makes more sense.
Thank you and your thoughts are noted (and honestly agree with 70% of my inbox today).

I know we have many threads about ACS floating around now. I'm thinking in the back of my mind of ways we might better use AFP as a tool for communication about ACS.
Anyway, thanks for posting the original note!
Change of plans.
The meeting will now be held on Thursday February 18 at 6pm.
