Federal agency assisting state in theft probe CHESTERFIELD — State police and an unidentified federal law enforcement agency are investigating the theft of town dollars in Chesterfield, and town employees are the subject of the investigation. A few points:
Last town meet, there was a surplus (not a shortage) of about $ 200,000 on the plant project.
Do you know what an audit is???
They are routine. Until one is finished, don't make any conclusions.
As for the State detective, I don't trust him. Talked to him on another issue. I don't have any confidence in what he does, ooops, what he does not do. And who is selectively targeted.
As for THB, they have created false stories before. Wait to see if this is another one.
I'm thinking it may be more of an accounting error than anything else. It happens. . .

What?!?! The HB creating false stories?!?! Say it ain't so!!!!!! (note the sarcasm)
The HB has a long history of crafting stories in such a way as to have the reader come to the conclusion that will sell the most papers. They repeatedly only report 'some' of the facts and omit many of the facts that would allow the reader to come to an entirely different conclusion.
An accounting error doesn't sell papers. Accusing town officials of theft does.
Lies sell. . . until folks begin to understand that it is most likely a lie they'll buy the rag. Sooner or later that paper will only be found in the remaining outhouses in the county. . .

Maybe we will get lucky and and asteroid will crash into the HB offices one day while everyone is gone.
In no way is this an accusation, I am just curious....do I remember reading a while back that the treasurer of Chesterfield resigned? If so maybe they always do an audit between old and new people?
