Benny, you said, " this one thing I know... Anderson would be better off if Mitch had sent more of it to the local level than the way he hoarded it all for his pet projects."
Let me ask you some questions to illuminate what I mean:
(1) How do you know that none of Mitch's so-called pet projects won't benefit Anderson?
Have you seen any so far? Empirical evidence says I am correct.
(2) If Mitch's stimulus is spent within INDOT and INDOT spends the money improving transportation accessibility throughout the state, how do you know this won't ultimately benefit Anderson?
I suppose if you drive to Kokomo (they're the nearest community that has ongoing stimulus projects) You will be diectly benefitted. Otherwise, I would rather see more on the local level.
(3) Do you trust Anderson officials to know how to spend the money better? It seems most people don't (but that's my belief, unsupported by anything but intuition).
I trust Anderson officials to spend the money in Anderson and not in northeastern Indiana where Daniels is attempting to bolster support for a national campaign.

What empirical evidence? I'm not even sure which projects you're calling pet projects. I know that INDOT was going to build a road along I-69 between Scatterfield and Pendleton and as far as I know, that's still on the books. Then there is the Commerce Connector which is supposed to come through MadCo. as well as a bypass planned for the Pendleton area.
At this url you will find information about an endorsement of the FY 2008-2011 Transportation Improvement Program Amendment-American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding for Madison County. http://www.in.gov/indot/div/public/transit/pubs/Amend27.pdf
INDOT is still accepting applications for the stimulus funding. Perhaps Madison County/Anderson hasn't applied for much other than the above.

So would I. But investment in the state highways and fast rail will ultimately benefit Anderson and Madison County as well as other areas in the state.

I don't think he has a snowball's chance of launching a national campaign. Pence would do better than Daniels, imo, and I don't think he'll run either. Population density (esp. for Republicans) in that section of the state isn't that great. What makes you think Daniels intends to run?

Just read where Indiana's revenue collections are down 76.5 million, well above the re-adjusted number budgeted for. . . (READ- revenues went down much further than anticipated).
Bet yah this means even more "fees" to come. . .And hey Mitch guess what! It's raining!
