I think he was predictable. I think he became an instant expert on all matters the moment he took office. And... I think he came a touch unglued when he had to be forcibly removed from his office. His ego is so bloated that he pays for his own weekly radio show. That alone makes him unreliable.
They pay... but from what I hear, he runs short and has to pay out of his pocket. That is when he can't squeeze more from 5 or 6 people from his former admin that he has promised their jobs back. Kinda sad.
He must have people listening to the show, does that make all of the listeners unreliable?
I get so sick of the political games, Anderson does not need someone that is going to bow and kiss the political butts of all those great supporters, we need someone that will actually do the job elected (and paid) to do! I don't care if the person is Republican or Democrat, I just want someone that will actually do what is right no matter how many people get upset, even his own party!
Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan: "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
Go Kris,I strongly feel he is doing a great job with the hand he was dealt and I know that I like him as a person from the times I have met him.I went from door to door for him last time and would be honored to do it again.
Did you enjoy the $25 wheel tax or the 8%+ hike in your electric bill or the 40%+ hike in your sewer bill or maybe the BRAND NEW TRASH TAX??? that was nice!! How about when he raises your COIT or introduces the LOIT?! We can't afford him! He did on his behalf bring in jobs.... 2 dunkin doughnuts however one has already shut down so he lost half of what he has brought in.
Wheel tax is a county tax. Electric hike is due to a direct rise in energy costs (and Smith bankrupting the utilities for Nestle). Sewer increase was mandated by a Federal court. He can't raise COIT (that's a county thing too.) Trash fees? What would you do to make up for the lost revenue? What would Kevin Smith do? He "miscalculated" revenues by 2.3 million. Was that his plan? "Continue The Miscalculation?"
He lobbied for the Wheel tax. The utilities were not bankrupt, New sewers we mandated not the increase and definitely not 40%. He lobbied in other cities last time for the COIT increase and lost! Nothing was miscalculated the new administration was told there was going to be a shortfall of approximately $3 million and they we have to cut. So what is the current administrations agenda continue lobbying for increased taxes??
Ockomon was in favor of the wheel tax. Money for paving doesn't fall from the sky.
There was $900.00 in the utility account on Jan. 1.
You are correct about sewers being mandated. That's called an unfunded mandate. What did Smith do about it? Absolutely nothing. He hid from it and pretended it didn't exist.
Smith did miscalculate 2008 tax revenue by 2.3 million. Smith's consultantant (as well as Ockomon's) Jim Steele stated so in the city council meeting.
I don't think the current administration plans on lobbying for COIT. If you'll recall a few weeks ago, the HB reported that Alexandria & Elwood wanted to revisit the COIT issue and Ockomon politely told them they were on their own.
I believe Mr Ockomon stated in a council meeting if we could get this darn county to vote in the COIT we would not need a trash fee. Also Mr Steele NEVER said it was a miscalculation EVER.

I'm not really in the market for that sort of thing. And if I were, I think I would look for someone a fuzz more reliable.
You don't think Smith was reliable? Why not?

Hmmm, he has sponsors on his show. I would think they pay.
