Uh... looks like Muncie Mayor McMuffin is rethinking her position on stimulus money and will hire more cops. They will HAVE A NEW TAX to raise the revenue for the match. Surcharge on traffic tickets. Sounds like a sin tax to me. |

Where is the outrage?
maybe try Munciefreepress You should get some outrage there.
Smells like bubble gum to me it does!
Don't kick the dog! You will get bit.
The real outrage will come when cops start writing more tickets to pay for their salaries.
Benny, your arms must be getting tired. Would anyone else care to help Benny stir the s**t?
"You durn kids get outta my yard!"
Yet. . . they are going to begin shutting off at least half the city street lights. . .

Maybe Benny should start worring about Anderson, and not Muncie let them deal with their own problems
I was just pointing out the fact that people were chiding Ockomon for accepting stimulus money and praising McMuffin for refusing the money.
We are just childng you because you have your head stuck up the Oky/Democrat line.
I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..
I dunno. I think they are comparable cities surrounding population, mix, and income level of the citizens. There is value in comparing the two. . . and lessons to be obtained.

I agree that there is value in comparing events in Muncie to events in Anderson. But I believe that the lesson learned here should include the idea that ALL issues and points of view must be considered. Ideas floated by Democrats and Republicans, ideas that include raising taxes and those that include cutting heads and services. ALL ideas must be considered.
When Muncie first announced that they would not except the stimulus money, posters lined up on both sides of THAT position. "Great, don't take the money. In three years the city will get a big bill." OR "How stupid not to take the money. Look what you can do in the 3 years". Now what will Anderson residents argue about since Muncie has decided that taking the money is in their best interest?
Was the original position or THIS position the correct one for them? Who the hell knows right now. The important thing is to look at all sides of any argument (issue), make a enlightened decision and don't be afraid to revisit the issue if minds or conditions change. THAT should be the lesson learned here.
Why do they call it "Common Sense" when so damn few people have it?
