UAW trying to get into TSC
|
Once again they are trying to get into TSC. Sad thing about it is a LARGE majority of the supporters are on the verge of being fired for attendance or production, or are crying because they don't get everything they want. Some say they will go on strike if they don't get what they want. Correct me if im wrong but they can't go on strike until a contract is signed. If one isn't signed and they walk off the the job they have more or less quit haven't they? I personally want nothing to do with a union because i saw how their greed helped take Anderson apart. I won't vote for it and will have nothing to do with it if they get in. At this point i don't know if they have enough cards to even get an election, let alone witnb an election but it will be the end of TSC in Pendleton if they get in. Thet are planning on investing nearly 20 million into some high-tech stuff in the building, conveyour lines and other things. If a union gets in before that happens there is nothing stopping them from closing TSC in Pendleton and going to another city that has a building of similar size that may already have the things TSC wants to put into the Pendleton building. They own the building so nothing could stop them from shutting down and leaving every employee out of a job.
I wonder if these union supporters think about that? If they are so miserable they should all quit IMO. Then they would find out exactly how bad the job market is right now and realize how lucky they were. They could very well end up taking all 250+ people that work at TSC with them if they vote a union in. There is BS at every job but we are working OVERTIME at a time when a lot of people are not working at all. A lot of people would love to be working right now period, let alone working overtime. But we have a lot of those GIMMIE...GIMMIE...GIMMIE people. Some of them friends of mine but i have a feeling things might get heated if they get their election. Lots of friendships will be strained, just like 4 years ago. |

I know TSC has other locations, do you know if they are trying to get into all locations?
Do other countries like China, Mexico, Malaysia, India, etc., just pull straws when they read stuff like this? How do they divvie up these jobs the unions drive offshore?

Just the warehouse in Pendleton as far as i know. It happens every 3 or 4 years, 3rd time since 2001. A group of people that are about to be fired for attendance or production or pot-smokers that are afraid they'll get fired for failing a drug test try and get them in.
Maybe you need a union to keep the "pencil pushers" (as you like to call them) in line.
Keep them in line? Would just make it easier for them to do little to nothing if they had a union. Come to work drunk, stoned. It's ok, we have a union!!!!
I'm talking about the people that you refer to as "pencil pushers." You know...management types.
They won't be able to to write anyone up (that deserves it) without getting a grivence filed agaisnt them. Bad workers will be treated like royalty. Hey maybe we can clock in, go to the strip club and get paid the whole time!!!
God forbid they get into TSC because 250+ people will be unemployed, unless they go wherever TSC goes.
They left INDY because of the Union. Used to be by the Airport, moved out of county, good-bye union.
It is Indiana's "at will" employment status that allows things like that to happen. Think its a good thing?

The availability of individuals with the required skill sets determine wages and benefits for companies producing a particular product or service, not the employers. When unions dictate them based on some specious 'negotiated' agreement, egregiously profit-destroying employee 'benefit' programs like 'jobs bank' are concocted and if anyone can justify a person being paid 90+% of his/her wages while being laid off due to a reduction in demand for the product/service they create, I'm all ears. Oh, before you answer, you have to know that I may have been born at night but it wasn't last night.
