Not often, but, I think observerII would agree, most of the time when an officer is in the position to see someone disregarding an emergency vehicle, they are responding to the same scene and are unable to stop, or get a plate number.
ISP does patrols on the interstate, one trooper will make a traffic stop, and another trooper will stay behind them looking for people that don't MOVE OVER OR SLOW DOWN.
Many emergency workers are killed on the highways every year being hit by people who just don't pay attention. Lucky trooper in Indy this weekend, made it out of a similar situation with his life.

Sorry, I guess my parents taught me different than a lot of others, I was taught you always stop and pull over for emergency vehicles and funerals! It is a respect thing I guess, but I can even remember my drivers ed teacher telling someone else to stop that was in the car with me. Parents need to make sure their kids know this, when it comes to emergency vehicles it could be a matter of life or death for people.
