News in the night

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. 8-20-08 Anderson emergency dispatch was called about a woman unconscience and not breathing in the 2500 block of w40th st. Medics were called as was APD. The medics quickly radioed to let St. Johns know that they were coming in with a woman who had coded. APD arrived and immediately called for more help , a supervisor and various officers. They were immediately investigating this. The details were not given out that I could hear, but I do know that APD did not clear the scene until 2:06 a.m. and that they sent an officer to St. Johns right away after the ambulance arrived at the hospital.
I heard the call on the scanner as well, but I really hate to post things I don't hear everything about. I was not sure what all was going on, but I heard the call for APD to assist AFD with a non-responsive person there, apparently there was someone else there that was extremely upset and could not be calmed down. I read this online this morning on HB:

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

A little before 3:00 a.m. Manor care called APD to report that a woman that works for them has been having problems with her husband and that they had an argument before she came in to work at 10:oo p.m. they also stated that he came there to talk to her and she said that she would just go out to the parking lot and talk with him. When someone went out to check on her they were both gone. They also said there have been other problems between them that caused them to worry for her. At 4:30 a.m. Manor care called APD back to let them know that the woman still had not returned to work or called in. APD has been checking into this. If anyone else knows more please add your info.

At about 2:45 a.m. APD was called to 8th and Ruddle, a woman was supposed to be lying in the road with a crowd gathering around her. When the officers arrived and drove all around the area they could not find anyone. I hope that this was a prank or someone that did not really know what they were seeing.

What a busy night for APD, I started out at about 2:50 a.m. and I heard them talking about a battery at Jimbo's. I could not get much details but from what little radio I did hear it sounded serious.

At 3;01 a male hispanic called APD to report his car stolen, they had to send an officer who spoke spanish. When the officer arrived at the Applewood Marathon and spoke to the man he gathered that the car may not have actually been stolen as the designated driver just left him there.

at 3:02 someone attempted to break into a home with the owner home in the 1900 block of Lincoln. I did not hear anything further from this but it was a real call.

These are things that I pick up throughout the night but cannot post at the time they are happening (when I am working). If anyone has anything else to add or to tell please feel free to do so. It does not even have to happen at night. Lets just try to keep it more local news.
