When I was a kid my family would meet at my Grandparent's house to eat dinner . Sometimes my Grandma would prepare a meal but my favorite memory was when we would order food from a small restaurant on Columbus Ave. called the White Spot . It was just north of Rinker's Hardware near 23rd and Columbus .You could get eight hamburgers for a dollar or six tenderloins for a dollar and my Grandpa and I would always go pick them up . Spending time with Grandpa was always special to me .
I agree ! I would love to see the pictures if you have some way to post them . Didn't the farmhouse sit up on a hill on the NE corner or the property ? What was on the land where the golf course is now ?

I remember The White Spot. If memory serves it was on Columbus back up around Nicholson File and Delco, (Plant 1?). Wasn't it a place where a lot of Delco workers went on their lunch breaks? Or, am I thinking of a little bar which was across the street from Plant 1?
Another thing I miss about Anderson are the breaded tenderloins you mentioned. There was/is a bar on Broadway near Cross St (Red Abel's?) which served gargantuan breaded tenderloins.
Forgive me if some of my references are a bit off. I have this habit of suffering "Senior citizen moments" quite a bit lately.

Reminds me of the Edgewood Drug store where a waitress there nicknamed Flo and the noon crowd almost everyone knew everyone; there were 2 National City banks in Edgewood, and Edgewood Elementary was on the corner of Park Rd. and S.R. 32.
Eating at the Woolworths snack bar, especially downtown and then going to Readmore and the York news company and the old Courthouse. Remember the Giant Store, Grants and Ordie shoes? How about the library branch on Nichol Avenue and Burger Chef? Wow....it just keeps coming back......
John, You are right Red's used to have the very best tenderloins. Unfortunately they closed a year or so ago. Sure do miss all of their food, including the frog legs.

Where was the library branch on Nichol Avenue located? What is there now?
I miss Taco Tico and Burger Chef. Sorry I don't remember all of the places that you guys are talking about. I have been to Abels, just to drive my ex home because he was too drunk, so did not get to eat.
Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan: "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
yummmmmmmmm..Taco Tico.....better than Taco Bell any day. I miss Tio's too...they were good. Anyone remember Mr. Gatti's Pizza out on Broadway. They had good pizza.
I grew up in Alexandria but I remember a place on Ohio Avenue across the street from Lee's video(of course it wasn't that back then) that had the BEST donuts ever. My dad used to go in there and get ubbers of day old donuts for practically nothing. Now if anyone remembers things about Alexandria....I can remember it like it was yesterday. I had such a great childhood growing up there. Wish it was like that now......oh what I wouldn't give to have the "Good Ole days" back again.

If you ever scan them into a computer, we'd LOVE to see them.
