no that was bob, he still around, frank was dark hair and shorter he recently passed away. was they across from tunnel bar when he did it?
No, it was beside the Sears parking lot. (Remember, Sears had two lots, one next to the store and the other across the street) I don't remember the seat cover shop across from the Tunnel Bar but it would have had to be in the building on the corner with the big windows. That used to be the John Deere tractor implement dealer in the 40's and early 50's, BTW. The place you describe had a big open lot beside it and large doors with windows facing 9th. It was across from the train depot and Mabel's was in the back in back of it, as I remember. (For those who don't know about Mabel's, ask your fathers, preferably when momma isn't around)
Speaking of the depot, what ever happened to the rock in front of the building?
The old Coopers Bowling Alley on 53rd then went to Star Skate & now HHGregg.Charlie Cooper passed away a couple of years & one son (Bobby) passed away earlier this year.
coburns on 26th main, hozeks on 35th columbus, breedens parkplace, laswells in irondale, marys on cincinatti av. still thinking!!!
Speaking of Breeden's, does anyone know if Lowell is still with us? My wife is from Park Place and Breeden's was/is only a block or so from her parent's house. I walked over to Breeden's and Tom Dearing's drug store many times with her. (Did we ever actually drink chocolate cokes? Ugh!) I remember Lowell as a big, friendly guy who lived out on Broadway in North Anderson.

Speaking of bowling alleys, you also had Rain's, out on Hartman Rd and highway 9. That was my first paying job, as a pin boy. There was also Brown's on Broadway, between the dairy and the old interurban barns, and Murnan's, downdown on Main St. Murnan's burnt down around 1955 or so.
I remember a soda shop on 8th west of Rablie Ave now there is the Anderson Dispatch or something like that torn it down and built a new facility.
Mathews Supermarket...and Eavey's on Meridian St.

Matthews was out in North Anderson, wasn't it?
FYI, these questions aren't rhetorical. I'm just trying to jog my memory banks awake.
