Hi, NoBulletin. You're new here, so I'm gonna post this for the benefit of all the other new users too. We don't allow copy and pasting of full articles here at AFP as it's copyright infringement.

The best thing to do is grab one or two keys paragraphs and include a link back to the original source.

Thanks, Paul.  Yes, I am new to the AFP (just signed up the other day) but when I saw this letter to the editor in the HB this a.m. I had to post it since it sheds so much light on this quarter-century battle.  I wasn't sure of the protocol but, since I saw anther AFP post with the HB banner, I assumed it was okay but I am now up to speed on the AFP's rules and will not transgress again!  Happy New Year to you and your posters/readers.

   Mr. Reed's disdain for the desires of Madison County residents is demonstrated by his comments in this article appearing in today's Herald Bulletin.  Apparently Madison County's residents aren't smart enough to realize that his business interests trump the widespread citizen opposition to the landfill for a variety of valid reasons such as student safety, water quality and housing values.  ESB 043 clearly requires this proposal to go back before the local zoning board which has, to date, refused to hear it for suspiciously unknown reasons.  Anybody want to venture an opinion as to why they wouldn't want to hear arguments against renewal of the expired permit despite the dangers the landfill would pose to so many County and City residents?

After Teddy said in the HB that she had never seen the school administrations' plan that I posted to cut $5 million when she absolutely DID see it, WHY would I believe ANYTHING she says when it is a very important issue? She has made it obvious that she will lie about it.

My landlord lives right next to the proposed landfill and i'm betting he went through the roof when he read that article. He had several not so kind words to say about Ralph Reed last time i dropped the rent off.

After No BULLetin posted it, I had to check out the Ralph Reed quotes.  Whoa, is this guy arrogant or what?

“The landfill is going in whether the school closes or not,” Reed said. “That’s what these people can’t get through their heads.”

“If that school needs to close then close it, and stop using it as a political pawn in the landfill dispute,” he said.

But there's money in them thar hills if ACSC closes Killbuck Elementary:   "Reed and his attorney, Ronald Fowler, said they had not recently spoken to anyone in the school system. Fowler said he has spoken to school officials before about the possibility of purchasing the Killbuck site if the school ever closed."

For what its worth, I will back up Teddy's claims.  As far as I have been told, there has been no contact between Reed (or his attornies) and ACS admin.  I, personally, know nothing of an official offer to build a new school should Killbuck close.  I have heard the rumor since I got on the board, but I have never heard any more than speculative rumor.

Keep in mind that there is alot that I am not informed of however.

Also never heard anything about their offer to purschase the property.
