I'm hearing that ACSC has plans to close Killbuck Elementary even though it wasn't on the list / proposal.

I have a call into the superintendent at ACSC and am waiting on a call back.

In the meantime, does anyone know any more about this?

Thanks.

A stealth plan, eh?  From the Anderson Schools?  Uh.........now, that's a new direction for them...........NOT!

Still no word back from ACSC. If I don't get an answer, I'll try again tomorrow. I don't have a lot of spare time (WORKING for end of the month bills ;) but this is important, imho. If nothing else, they should let us know they're NOT thinking about that.

Wait a minute. You mean the Board has already voted to close Killbuck?  Or is that just what the Administration is proposing?  And what does the stellar community panel think about that?  I have to believe Jim Lyon would be livid with these kinds of underhanded dealings.

From Carnac the Magnificent:

A Pug,a small horse, and the creation of the "stellar community panel".

What are a dog,a pony, and a dog and pony show?

I'm not knocking the panel here. They did what they were supposed to do and I am sure they thought their suggestions would be followed. I was on a community panel several years ago...I speak from experience.

Interesting but not surprising.  Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that a certain board member has been curiously absent from these forums for some time.  Is it possible that she was called to a 'come to Jesus' meeting by Ms. Lowe and told not to discuss the ACSC issues with the 'unwashed masses' that read and contribute to these forums?  Also, it is curious that this announcement was made by Ms. Lowe prior to it being presented to the board for discussion and vote since, after all, she can only recommend, not mandate.  Or, is it just possible that this was the plan from the start and the panel members, acting in good faith, were unknowingly used as shills by Ms. Lowe and the rest of the board?  Nah, that couldn't happen.  Not in Madison County!

I've thanked the ACSC superintendent's office for the press release this afternoon and offered to go talk to Ms. Lowe one to one about AFP, ACSC and how we might help each other. I'll let you guys know if anything pans out from that. A video interview with questions from you (modered by the AFP editorial board) might be really good? What do you say?

Has anyone seen Tobi? I haven't heard from her...
