Not Related,,,, to the burnt child,,,,,,,, BUT,,,, "If" your power goes out because of the ice storm. Use candles with care and caution.
"When you go out,, so do the candles."
Dont leave burning candles in a childs room. Kids Cats & Dogs will knock them over. A forgotten candle will burn down to any decorations at the base,thus setting the base on fire,the melted wax can ignite, the heat transfer from the flame will crack the glass or the plate the candle is setting on causing the candle to fall over.
For heat tonight again use care & caution with a fire place or wood stove. Start your fire the boy scout way.
DO NOT spray charcoal lighter fluid or any other flammable fluid on to wet wood to start your fire. The fluid will burn so hot you can cause a flash fire back into your living room OR cause a chimney fire.
If you use your kitchen stove for heat remember. Your stove was made to cook on,,, not heat your house. Having all the burners going will produce a ton of C 0 (carbon monoxide) inside the home.
Tonight sleep with your flash light, cell phone, (Lines go down) your phone will still work & vehicle keys on your bed stand. If you have a house fire,, everyone meet at the car. That way you will have shelter and heat as the fire guys do their thing.
