APD: Gas America, several drive-off's occurred at same time. God this kind of crap makes me sick. Take all their liscenses away for a couple of years, fine them about 5000 apiece.

Observer, i have a question. I am off work next week and was wondering if APD still has that deal where you can ride with officers during their shift?

I was wanting to start doing that and figured next week would be a good time to start since i wont be working.

Isn't that interesting?

She had a warrant and also decided she did not want to comply, so she also ended up with a resisting l.e. charge as well.

Thanks for the update, ObII...

Any ideas on who to talk to for a ride along with an officer? I'd want to video and display on the website. Could be a good thing for APD possibly. Thanks!

They ended up being the high powered airsoft rifles that shoot the plastic pellets. (even with laser sights) Looked just like the real thing. Subject did not pass go as he had a warrant for his arrest.

He was just dumbfounded that an election worker called on him. Go figure, a man with 2 real looking rifles walking around near a polling center. We did later find out he was shooting at aluminum cans.

Again, thanks for the update!

You used to be able to call the front desk to start riding with someone. As of the last time I checked, you could still ride along, but you have to sign a waiver before they will let you.

Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan
"If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

according to my criminal justice classes....they still have ride a longs.  Just call up there and ask.  I do believe you must sign a waiver though.

KP,

Any supervisor can set you up for a ride-a-long, however, I would talk to Chief Sparks about the video and postings. Not sure that the supervisors have the authority to authorize that, as we have certain people that are PIO's. I don't think it would be a bad thing but I would think the Chief would have to approve it first.
