I saw APD out with a K9 on 69 Monday morning, just shy of EB/NB I-69 mm 26.

Does anyone know what happened along 31st on Monday night or Tuesday morning?  I travel that road just about daily and noticed Tuesday morning that a pick up truck was plowed into a minivan and knocked up onto the sidewalk and whatever hit them continued running down the entire drivers side of the van?  I was just curious.  I hope for the owners sakes that whoever did it at least stopped and let them know what happened instead of it being an early morning surprise for the owners of the cars that were hit?  Again, I was just curious.

A 1 ton work truck (drunk driver) hit both the van and p/u then continued on without a right front wheel. It went a short distance north on Central before stopping. Both the driver and passenger fled on foot but both were caught. (both the van and small truck were owned by the same couple--sucks for them)

I kinda figured it was a drunk driver but I wasn't sure if they stopped or if they tried to run, I shouldn't be surprised that they tried running.  Thanks for the info..

It happened around 12:40am and the trucks left somewhere around 5am, but the investigators were going to make a day of it.

A.P. is located in the 6300 blk of Production Drive. (take MLK (Pendleton Ave) south to 67th St and it is off of 67th near the DRA testing facility. It's just north of the cemetary and you can see it off of MLK.

Observer II, delivers  a,,, "Double Scoop" for A.F.P. on the fire.

The H.B. or W.H.B.U. still haven't said a word about the American Play Ground  fire yet. Also great follow up about the drunk driving accident & the  K-9 on I-69 question.

Came in at 22:30 or so with fire and smoke showing.  Engine 6, Engine 7, Engine 1, Medic 2, Rescue, Unit 20.  Ladder 8 was on a public service, Engine 2 unknown.  Medic 1 brought out Ladder 1 later.  Set up two aerials did not use them.  Fire had a head start on us.  Still the building the is standing with all walls and a roof.  I was on Engine 7 and we laid out all of our 5".  We got back on station at 4:30 or so.  What a night.
