Weather News - Part Deux

Central Ill. Radar. Purple boxes are Tornado Warning, Red boxes are Severe Thunderstorm Warning
4.2 How does the National Weather Service (NWS) define a severe thunderstorm?
The term severe thunderstorm refers to a thunderstorm producing hail
that is at least
penny size, 0.75 inches in diameter or larger, and/or wind gusts to 58
mph or
greater, and/or a tornado. Although lightning can be deadly, the NWS
doesn't use it to define a severe thunderstorm. If it did, every
thnderstorm would be severe, by definition. Also, excessive rainfall
may
lead to deadly flash flooding, but heavy rain is not a severe criterion
either. The flood threat is handled through a separate set of watches
and warnings from your lcoal NWS forecast office. (http://www.spc.noaa.gov/faq/#4.2)

Great job Dawg!
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Thank you Dawg for the continued updates.

Sorry I couldn't keep it updated thru the acctual storm, but work took precedence for that. Hope everyone made it out OK.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING MONDAY NIGHT
AND LASTING UNTIL EARLY THURSDAY. AT THIS POINT IT APPEARS THAT
THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY NIGHT
AND TUESDAY. THE THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY NIGHT WILL ALSO BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. IT APPEARS THAT SOME ADDITIONAL
SEVERE WEATHER COULD ALSO BE POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY BUT IT REMAINS
TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE DETAILS. REMEMBER THAT DEADLY CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING WILL BE A THREAT IN ALL THUNDERSTORMS. (NWS INDIANAPOLIS)
Looks like Tuesday will be our next good chance at severe weather. Wind and moisture profiles look to be coming together accross central Ill. in that time frame to create another squall line event like we saw on Friday. Seems like there will be a bigger threat of a hail/wind event than there will be tornadoes. BUT... just ask the Fortville/Ingalls/Knightstown residents, they will tell you it doesn't have to be a tornado to tear stuff up.
After that it looks like our next event will be moving through on Friday, too far out to give any specifics yet on that one.
(Note: Times are in ZULU time, also known as Corrdinated Universal Time, or UTC) We are currently UTC-4. So take 4 hours off of any UTC time and that is the EDT time it would relate to, when we are in EST we are UTC-5.

WTH are we going to get blown away this evening or what?

Batten down the hatches. Looks like we are in for a rough night.
I fully expect the NWS to issue a tornado watch for the rest of Central Indiana within the hour. The storms over the Tippacanoe County area have had trained spotters, spotting a tornado with in them. They also have tornado history over Ill. Keep your eyes and ears open for the rest of the night, this is going to last through the early morning hours.
Stay safe tonight!!!
