They are rigid non-resistants, and will not bear arms or study the art of war; they refuse to take oaths, and discountenance going to law over issues that can possibly be settled out of the courts. The taking of interest was at first forbidden, but that prohibition is not now insisted upon. They "testify" against the use of intoxicating liquor and tobacco, and advocate simplicity in dress. In its earlier history the sect opposed voting or taking any active part in political affairs
Don't see anything about radios, but I would have bet that the one that used to come into my work (a few years back) listened in his truck.
Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan: "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
I went to school with a girl that was German Baptist, they did have tv's.
"If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
Yeah, that's strange. TVs are okay, but radios aren't? Anyway, that's what I was told. I don't know too many GBs so I can't verify it.

Hmmm, Family that I am acquainted with in Pendleton does NOT have tv. Kids have computer but parents did not use until recently.
I have also heard that there was a big break up of the Church at Pendleton and many left. Anyone hear anything?

Had not heard that Foodie, that is awful, but then again you know more about some of my personal thoughts on that subject.
"If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
Yes, from what I've heard Foodie is right. There was a big fuss and some of the younger families left the church. Wasn't the first time that happened.
