Motorcycle Tire Work - Anderson Power Sports
|
I have a set of laced rims and wheels off a 2008 Harley Davidson. I drove around town all morning looking for someone to take the tires off the rims and every tire shop I went to said they couldn't do it, but that Anderson Power Sports could. So I drive all the way up there to APS and the first thing the guys asks me is what they are off of. I told him a Harley Davidson and he said that he wouldn't do the work because they are off a Harley. So. . . If you have motorcycle tire work you need done on a Harley Davidson, don't bother going to Anderson Power Sports. They won't touch them!
Guess I'm going to Muncie. . . I have no other choice! AFD Heavy Rescue Unit RULES! |

I have someone wanting the tires but not the rims and in order to sell them to him I have to get the tires off the rims.

so why didn't you list all the other places not to go to?
Smells like bubble gum to me it does!
Don't kick the dog! You will get bit.
Marcum Racing in Pendleton will do it. 778-5302
So you are okay with the fact they won't perform a menial task like tire removal simply because it is an American made motorcycle?
Apparently. . .

Thanks, I'll give them a try. . .

I'll make it easy for you. If you own a Harley Davidson don't go anywhere but Harley Davidson for service. Period.
Is that better?

Let me clarify for those of you that apparently are confused by my posting about this here and elsewhere:
The thing is all I wanted to do is get two tires removed from their rims. They weren't on a motorcycle and don't even have the wheel kits on them (axles, etc). Pretty basic task we get done on our cars and trucks every day right? Wrong when it comes to motorcycles in the city of Anderson based upon my experiences today.
The employee I dealt with in the service department of Anderson Power Sports was clearly very frustrated when he saw the branding of the rims and tires I was needing the work done on, stating; "I guess we need to advertise we won't do this work for anything that is a Harley Davidson. We get guys in here every day."
I told him that every tire dealership I had visited had referred me to them, and after returning home and calling every shop I could find listed in the white pages and having them refer me to APS , clearly there is a lack of information out there surrounding the policy of APS to not perform any work what so ever on anything off a Harley Davidson motorcycle. So I posted my experience herein as a means of warning other owners of Harley Davidson products to skip APS when it comes to any kind of tire work, and hopefully prevent them from going through what I endured this morning.
It is not a negative statement towards the owners or employees of APS, but rather perhaps a critique of their business policy on one level, and mostly a statement surrounding an apparent gap in service availability when it comes to trying to get some tire work done for a Harley Davidson within the city of Anderson.
The fact is it cannot be accomplished in Anderson. Period. (At least as far as I have found thus far).
