I was wondering, has anyone tried or know of anyone who has tried the online surveys, or jobs from home over the internet? I have heard different things about them, but only rumor. I was thinking of getting a part time job and wondered about these? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Fox had a thing a long time ago that was www.liveops.com or something pretty close to that, I checked into that one, you have to have an additional phone line for just that, but you would take orders over the phone for things, did not sound really hard.

I have signed up for the surveys online...mostly they don't pay enough to make it worth the time to click the link, now they wont stop sending me surveys.

I have also done mystery shopping.  This I enjoyed, but most of the Anderson shops only pay $5 or or a shop.  You might get $1-$5 in free merchandise for doing the shop as well, but when you factor in all the prep, time in the store, note taking and paperwork, then you have to wait 30-60 days to get paid... Now, if I spent time in Indy mystery shopping would be a totally different story.  I could almost make a full time job of it, but I am not interested in Indy so much.

Amazon Mechanical Turk is something to check out.

If you have skills (writing, design, photos, etc.) you can use a lot of different websites for freelancing opportunities.

Maybe I should write up a column on this topic when I have the time? I've been doing it over three years now. Close to the bottom some months, but looking better all the time. AFP alone is nearing 40,000 visitors a month - compared to 10,000/month before AFP print hit the streets...

Give me some time and I'll be glad to share some of my knowledge.  Anyone else interested?

kpaul, I'd love to see a column on this subject.  There are so many scams out there when it comes to online job opportunities.  Your input would be great.
