Reports of a  Huge  fire in a fireworks factory in China  has caused a shortage of U.S. fireworks. It is also reported this year local firework dealers have spiked the prices up to 35% ~ 45% over last years prices. With the cost of gasoline, & diesel  transporting the firecrackers has also increased the local price.

Let us take a look at the other hidden cost of fireworks.

1.Fingers

2. Thumbs

3. Eye sight

4. Hearing

5. Garages

6.Barns

7.Bad feelings from the neighbors

8. Paint burns on your auto

9. Cost to medicate  your pets

10. A full weekend cleaning up all the spent Junk out of your yard and off your roof.

Happy 4th. of July

Just call me an old broad but I would like to see the damn things banned from all private citizens getting them.  There are plenty public displays not only in Anderson but around the county and in Indy( which Indy is on TV)

It not only would stop all the things you mentioned above CJS, but would give our APD the time to go out and catch the real bad guys and save Medics the stupid runs they have to make on injuries.

Shame on you Colts Fan!   The founding fathers were much in favor of fireworks and suggested the 4th should definately be celebrated with them.

None of them were reported as dying by fireworks.

I still have some I need to let off! I may have to do that this evening.

My dad was shooting fireworks out in the road one holiday.  Some of the neighbors were gathered around in their yards and his watching.  Anyway, some big thing went awry and started shooting sideways.  It shot a ball of fire right into this chick, Debbie's, crotch, who was sitting in a chair in his yard.  Scarred her badly and that's a helluva place to have ugly scars!  It's not worth it to me.

That is funny in a sick way!

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
