You must have our family mixed up with another. my Father was a horrible mechanic but an awesome bodyman. All of us kids grew up in the shop working. I am the only one who became a mechanic. I can still do bodywork and occasionally do, but I realized even before I was a teenager that is not what I wanted to do. So I started hanging out at the shop after dinner when a mechanic would come in and do the work we needed and started learning from him. I still pretty much enjoy it but like anything it can get on ones nerves.

Smells like bubble gum to me it does!

Andersonbrent, what would you do if you went to a repair shop and they told you you needed a new battery and it would be $135, then after they put the battery in, they charge $277 to your debit card, saying the rest was labor.  They spent 5 minutes, tops, putting one of those little meter things on my battery to test it and swapping it out.  WTF???

WOW! I would proabablyconsult an attorney, As a rule a shop can only go over it's estimate by 10% without consulting you. That is if they run into unexpected problems. I have seen some batteries that were hard to change but it would appear as if they probably charged you for about 2 hours for doing it. Most of the harder batteries only take about 20 minutes to change. What kind of car is it? and what kind of brand battery did they install?

I know I got bent over.  I'd have told them to take the damn thing out and gone somewhere else, but I was late for a party.  Happened right there in Anderson and I'd be happy to tell you where, but Andersonbrent said we can't name any names Meineke on Scatterfield.  I meant to contact their headquarters, but I never did.  I guess it's not too late.

If you don't report this kind of actions they will do it to another. I hate to have your trip to Anderson marred with bad memories because one business was bad.

LOL!  That wasn't the only bad thing.  I stayed in a hotel room with no A/C for four days!  I'd tell them every day and every day they'd say they'd fix it.  Finally I just gave up and asked them for a fan.  Thankfully, they had one.  They did, however, knock 20% off my bill.  Although, I had to call them back to get it done because they said they would, but never credited my debit card.  Once I called them, though, they did it right away.
