Thank you very much PatriotDan for your offer to take pictures, which is very nice of you. The little boy in the picture (Andrew), drowned in early 1960's and if you come across a picture of Joda Anderson, he was my dad. If you have any more questions I will try to help you in the future.
I grew up being told we were related to Chief Anderson. My dad supposedly did research and moved back to Anderson from Kansas and that is where myself and sisters were born. The thing is, I have read the book on Kikthewenund and have not found any names in the book I know. Then, I was told that Indians who did not take government money were not put on the rolls and therefore, it's hard to find the lineage of those who did not take govt. welfare. My dad was born in Labette County or Township in southeastern Kansas. His father's name was Charles S. Anderson. My dad was actually copper colored in the summer when he worked outdoors, and we have what are called "throwbacks" in the family, whereas, one kid will be black-eyed and black-haired. My dad had very dark eyes and black hair too. One of my cousins looked full-blooded, with the long black hair and black eyes, but again, except for family stories, which are told by all my uncles along with my dad, I just don't know if we really are related.
