In layman's terms, does that mean stop pissing and moaning and do something about your problems?

 Yes  in some what of a conecting way,, Lets say,,  your child has a messy room. So the "child and messy room" would be  called the "Solution" (or your challenge to correct the problem)

"You",,, "applying  any kind of pressure" on the child, to clean the room would be "one half" of the "precipitate".

When the work to clean the room starts, the child will use "x" amount of energy producing Heat. That heat would be the other half of the Precipitate. i.e. thermal kintics

You have heard the expression "If you not a part of the solution,,, your apart of the problem" This is a reverse of that saying,,, Problem being solution,,, precipitate being the problem.

That's what makes it so damn  FUNNY.   & they wonder why Captain Jack drinks rum.
