OK, I have been keeping this secret, but, lots of people know now so I am going to let it fly! Rachael Ray was searching for the country's best teacher, one of our wonderful AHS teachers was not only nominated, but she is in the finals! Rachael Ray's film crew has been to AHS 2 times in the past week or so. Once to film her in action and get some words from her students, then to take a bunch of them to Staples where Rachael bought several thousand dollars of school supplies for AHS. Now, she and her husband are to fly out to New York to appear on the show live (well, we will see it sometime in June I am told). Wouldn't it be awesome if the country's best teacher was right here in poor old Anderson? WOW! I don't want to let the whole cat out of the bag by giving her name, but she knows who she is...Congrats!!! And Good Luck!!

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it wasn't one of those teachers that made a deal with my daughter and then renigged on it.
But if I had to make a guess, I would say it was a certain English teacher, who won a lottery once, and has a place up by the Mississenewa (sp) Dam, and goes boating in the summer....she taught a couple of my girls and even came to 19's open house when she graduated. ;)
CC, I hope that it is not one of those teachers too....I will tell you this, one of your daughters is in one of her classes...

Funny she has no problem telling me about the things that tick me off from the school....but didn't mention the filming on Thursday or Friday. She's at her dad's this weekend, so I messaged her to ask her about it....."Oh yeah, I know all about it." hmmmph.
Funny how things that seem like a big deal to us are nothing to them...

Especially since they were also being filmed....as extras probably.
Now I wonder one thing...and please don't jump back at me like I'm on the uniform thread, but this is regarding the appearance of the students. As I've said on more than one occasion, I've been in AHS any number of times this school year and always I see too many kids that are still managing to wear these uniforms in what I consider to be a sloppy manner. The thing I wonder is if it's been captured on film so that other people see the same thing I see??
I would bet, knowing the teacher involved especally, that they spiffed up a bit before the cameras started rolling.

Not if everyone is doing what they are supposed to, to start with. I'm wondering if I will ever see any of the footage that was shot. I don't really watch tv.
Rachael's show is on channel 8 at 9am. I will be sure to let everyone know when it will be on.
I agree, if everyone is wearing their uniforms, they shouldn't need to be spiffed up, and I am sure that the vast vast majority of them don't at 8am, however, at noon it could be a different story. I know that by the time I come back from lunch at work, I need to be spiffed up myself.
