*Zimmy walks in lights up a smoke*

Sorry that was Crappy of me....... HA HA HA HA HA HA (pardon the pun--AGAIN)
It's not what you got, it's what you give. It ain't the life you chose, it's the life you live.

I got pregnant. Have you tried that, kpaul?

Bet I could get on Oprah that way. ;)
Gonna try to cut down then gradually quit over the next month or so. We'll see how it goes. One pack = a gallon of gas, though...

Bad idea Paul. My theory is tried and true and has worked for anyone that has followed it. But there is a catch. Here is my theory.
You don't quit until the desire to quit smoking is GREATER than the desire to smoke.
When you quit, it should be cold turkey, and not until the above is true. If you are quitting because you know its bad for you or because you feel you really need to, you will fail. My wife quit while pregnant but always started up after words. It wasn't until our son got a hold of a cigarette and put it in his mouth to be like mommy that she quit, cold turkey, no looking back. For me, I got a headache in the morning if I didn't smoke right away but smoking first thing in the morning made me nauseaous. I decide that was it, I really didn't want to smoke any more. Cold turkey, never turned back. No program will make you quit if you really don't want to stop smoking. Quitting because you think you need to or have to will only result in failure.
The desire to quit must EXCEED the desire to smoke. Until that is really honestly the case, you won't quit. But when you do, go cold turkey, its over in about five days. I smoke two packs a day for eight years. Then when my theory was true, I quit on a dime, cold turkey.

He's absolutely right, kpaul. I'll add one more thing. I quit once, cold turkey, for several years. Then one night I was out with friends, dancing and drinking and a cigarette seemed like a good idea. Huge mistake! Once you quit, even if it's been years, don't risk it! When I quit when I got pregnant, I really wanted to quit. That just gave me the extra little urgency/push I needed.

K.Paul I agree with the fella up there. I have tried time and again to stop, but really I was only do it for someone else.
