I appreciate your email and concerns. Maintenance of our bleachers is an ongoing process and please know we spend thousands of dollars annually on their upkeep. As they are wood they are subject to weather and deterioration. My maintenance staff inspect them weekly and replace suspect and broken boards. If you could be specific as to where you are concerned I will have my staff reinspect the area you mention to insure they are ok
Thank you

Subject: Condition of bleachers
Good Morning.
Over the last couple of years I have been attending races at the Anderson Speedway at least once a month and sometimes more often. I enjoy the races and the atmosphere.
The one concern I have are the bleachers. My friends like to sit near the top so we can get a better view of the track without people walking in front of us. Every time I climb those bleachers, I wonder if they are going to hold or if I’m going to fall through. Some of the boards are so rotted, that a large portion is missing.
I would like to see an improvement in the appearance and safety of the bleachers. A few races ago a lady was complaining about the condition of the bleachers. Someone suggested she email the Speedway. Her comment was that the Speedway was “too cheap” to do anything about it. So, I’m emailing you to see if she is correct.
Thank you for considering this matter.
Sincerely,
(name removed)
You may be the one in the know. Several rumors has been floating around that Tony Stewart has bought the track? I have blahed these rumors , until the other day someone said that it was announced at the track on the speakers. I was not there that night. Can anyone advise???????????????? Thanks in advance............

Palehorse - got the photos working. You had BBcode in there. That is, AFP doesn't have the [img] tags.
Sorry photos are so difficult here. It's on 'my list.' ;)
Thanks for the pics and the report!
Great pictures, I had heard this morning on the church van from one of the kids, that it was a really great racing night in Anderson!
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

I've 'promoted' this to a story (and cleaned it up just a little bit...)

Thank you so much KP! Appreciate the assist and kudos!

Anderson Speedway delivered on it's self entitled "Night of Thrills" Saturday night, with a pulse raising set of events that left many folks on the edge of their shakey wooden bleacher seating for a large course of the evening. Events like the Outlaw figure 8's, corkscrew, and school bus figure 8's for both men and women, served to thrill the packed house. Then we had the trailer figure 8 that was nothing short of dramatic; trucks and cars pulling trailers in a figure 8 with the object being to knock the trailer from the vehicle. The resulting chaos was enthralling and a real crowd pleaser! This event was followed by the rollover; vehicles were intentionally driven onto a ramp designed to roll the vehicle over, with points assigned for the number of rolls. 3 attempts each. The evening's events culminated with the demolition derby; a massive field of carnage not unlike navigating the Dan Ryan expressway in Chicago! Here are a couple of pics. I apologize for the poor quality but the venue's lighting negatively impacted my equipment. Combined with the low shutter settings necessary to get these pictures, the shaking bleachers served to mess things up a bit:
Above: Smoke clouds drift across the field as the carnage that was the trailer event is cleared.A cloud of oil smoke hanging like a spirit in the sky
