Here's a YouTube vid of an 'alien sea monster", looking very much like a sturgeon.  In this case, the Russians claimed it was either a Russian mermaid (hoo, can we say U-G-L-Y??), or an alien.  Anyway, whatever it was, they cooked it and ate it.  Kinda makes you wonder what might happen to any other alien who accidentally lands in Russia.
