Proud of AHS and HHS kids
|
I could have put this in the "Great Kids" thread, but I thought that it was worthy of it's own. I really really want to take a moment and thank the kids and parents who have chosen to stay with the AHS band through all the changes this summer. I am super impressed. Not because I doubted that everyone involved was awesome, but because you have all exceeded what I expected! My son and I were having an non-sense conversation earlier, just after we got home from the final day of Band Camp, the conversation ended with the following comment from him..."Everyone involved with band this year is soo nice and awesome. EVERYONE! The kids, the staff, the parents. All the things that "they" thought about the AHS kids are not true, and all the things that we thought about the HHS kids is not true. We are all just kids who want to be in band, have fun and do a good job." (not a direct exact quote, but very close) Once again, thanks to all who chose to stay involved. Thanks to all for getting over the hurdles we have faced and working hard to make this work for all the kids. I am so proud to be involved with this group and proud to know so many of these kids. Thanks one more time to all the kids and staff for starting this school year off on the right foot. I pray that you will be the leaders, and that the rest of the community can learn from you! Good luck tomorrow at Winchester and even better luck at State Fair!!!!
Every one is invited and welcome to come out to the Ice Cream Social next week at AHS! Have some snacks and get a preview of the State Fair Show and show the kids that the community supports them!!!!
(PS< in case you haven't heard, they have 3 drum majors this year, one dressed in Pirate uniform, one as a Scot and one as an Indian. And all the kids look super classy in the kilts...)
Please excuse me for eating all the chocolate...
I think they should keep the name Marching Highlanders.
This is good news. Congrats and can't wait to see how well they do at State Fair!
First Place At Winchester Tonight!!!!
I am soo sooo soo proud of all these kids!
(I did hear a few parents comments in the stands tonight that did not go along with the whole "coming together" thing, but very few and far between. Over all, great support for the kids no matter what the name or uniform is!!!)
Please excuse me for eating all the chocolate...
You heard it here before the HB!!! Scooped again!
Please excuse me for eating all the chocolate...
The other PINK meat!
Awesome...
Lets hope all the other sport type things just as well
I do not tarnish my word. It is the only thing that is truly only mine.
Yes...I have faith in the kids...I hope the parents/grandparents can continue to support the kids and get over our issues. (I say our because there are things that I have had to get over myself this summer....But as my pastor says...if you have an issue or are offended...get a ladder and get over it!)
Please excuse me for eating all the chocolate...
