I encountered a strange looking fox yesterday. I have googled several images and the best I could come up with is that it looked like a Bush Dog/ Fox mix. I know that Bush Dogs are not indigenous to Indiana but I know what I saw. It was large, had a round head shorter hair with short ears, it was aproximately 5'-6' long from nose to tail, 80-90 lbs, straw brown longer hair on the body that was well groomed and the tail was that of a regular Red Fox. When it ran from me it's gate was that of a fox. It happened in Madison County about 10am May 25th just as it was starting to rain. I was born and raised on a farm and have encountered many fox and this one was not of the ordinary species. Any idea of what I might have seen?

Could have been a collie/coyote mix?
“If you treat an individual as he is, he will stay as he is; but if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
No it was definatly not a Coyote mix. The tail and the way it ran was that of a Fox.
