Audit each department for spending habits over the last 3 years, check to see what was purchased and if the department has these items. I am talking big ticket items. Fridays paper front page article regarding ex city officials bilking the small town out of 259,000 if this goes on there, It can go on in Anderson Insurance- The city should look at a beneflex program, It offers each employee the option of what insurance they want and disability insurance and life insurance and extend the employees vacation time. Each employee is given so many flex dollars per year of service no matter the position you hold, it is based on each empoyees pay. When the employee uses up the amount alloted and they go over then the ballance comes out of their pay checks The number of city employees that do not live in the city limits. If the employee chooses not to live in the city limits then they should pay an out of city fee or move back into the city, or lose their job If the city has an employee that is already recieving a retirement from the city or an other company then they should be the first to go, and all future hires for those depts cannot be pulling a retirement to hold a leadership role. city should put a lean on all properties that have been abandoned then auction them off fine anyone who has a car or truck that is not running and is out side require all businesses in the city limits for have a sign permit for anything outside except the stores main sign, gas, convenient store, fast food or any store front. open a recycling plant, investigate cities that have done this like Denver, and SanFancisco it is a money make offer a lower payment plan to residents that go green when paying their bills, saves paper, postage and man hours offer a lower fee for trash pick up if residents will recyle you will make the money up in the recyling plant require all city buildings to turn down the thermostat, and to use energy effecient lights If a city leader needs a car or truck out side of the city light and power, street dept, parks dept, fire department, or police dept. then the car or truck should be a modest value and leased anyone that is driving a city car or truck should have to account for the miles placed on the vehicle and the gas purchases, and any damage caused by the employee due to negligence should be required to pay for the repair. This should also apply to any eqipment that the employee uses, computers copiers etc. All city computers should have the games removed from the computers, and the computers should be monitered for miss use such as porno, personal e-mails, If a city employee feels he or she needs a cell phone, then only dept heads should have them and they should be required to pay for any personal calls Ms Stringer had a contract with the city for 1 year, Place a laid off city employee in her position and find out why cat and dog lic have not been sent out. Find out what happened to the money that the fund raiser they had raised did it go into the shelter general fund? They did host it on city property. Make every dept account for all items used from pens to toliet paper, cleaners , etc These items should be kept in a locked closet to keep down theft. If a dept needs to be painted or what ever emprovement needs to be inspected and voted on the dept should not be allowed to make these changes with out written approval Keep in mind that it takes alot of indians and a fewer chiefs to run a city. Over management is a problem in all companies. Use the men and women that are in work release, have them do trash pick up from the streets, have them shovel sidewalks and do painting and tasks like this it will save working hours as well as using those that need to make up for the wrong they have done. reach out to the community have fund raisers, look into stimulus money and make Anderson a more desirable place to live for those that work outside the city. Anderson should have the small town appeal for a city and entice those that are tired of living in large cities. It really does not matter who is in office, if they keep the ones that have abused their jobs and positions it will never get better. It is all about accoutability. and living with in a budget, and be creative when times get tuff.

I reported a $ 2.6 million bad/corrupted contract on a defective system. Got slipped down, brushed off. Told NO investigation/audit. What they do behind closed doors will stay a secret.
Suggestions to improve things are a threat to their leadership. They have circled the wagons to protect themselves from the public. In election system, told by an official, both parties have bonded to keep others out.
How many would like to go up town and circle city hall with signs and protest. We want the leaders of the city to listen and look at the real problems
