Re: the mayor won't insult you---were you at the county council meeting at City Hall? He was very angry and insulting to all there that were not on his side. He needs to go to charm school.

Don't mistake anger for passion.  I've seen his anger... and that wasn't it.  How would you react if you had a dipstick like roofie rob calling you a liar and poking you with a stick?

Part of being mature and his Kris position is knowing how to compose yourself, without looking stupid or losing your temper.

Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan

Just because the cities paid holidays are in line with the state doesn't stand up as a valid answer IMO. The state has to many paid holidays also. Every one screams about the paid time GM people got. They do not get as much time off as the city or state. Maybe in the old days but not now. Cut backs. The Union has given a lot of things back and paid holidays is one of them. And I have to agree, I have never had the Mayor go off on me. The times we have talked was friendly. Of course that was before he was mayor and the topic of discussion was about our DD's and their softball careers. His daughter plays a mean game of softball! I have never talked politics with him.

You should have another discussion with him about politics.  He is more reasonable than you would imagine.

And... I wish I had as many paid holidays as others.  But I don't. I wish I had Warren Buffet's money.  But I don't.

I refuse to base my satisfaction on what others have that I don't.  Are some city workers overcompensated?  Yes.  There's a guy I have in mind right now.

I have never said that the city has hired 100 's of people, The city has replaced workers with part-time and contract people. This is not right when the city has laid off workers. as far as me getting the age wrong well I am sorry I got the wrong info off of a web sight. If you work for the city do you work nights or is this another employee being paid by the city to resond to a forum, as far as sitting down with the mayor he will not call you back or respond to a letter. This mayor is no different than the past mayors, He has place people that he is related to into positions that should have gone to the city employee's first. When I make comments about poor spending habits by the depts. and audit all depts and control what is being spent your remark is control pens and toliet paper. One of my friends came to work one moning and one of the employee's had taken a 12pk of toliet paper bought for the dept and put it in his car. This is tax payors money is it not?  You think that it is fair that someone who already has a retirement from the city should be able to have another job in the city and gain another retirement? I post sugestions because I would like to see positive changes, But all that has happened is closed doors. If you do not belong to the good ol boys club then it doesn't really matter what you think.

Benny my husband was not laid off, what does my husband have to do with the  way the city has mis led people and will not even look into the items being bought the changes made that are not working. I have contacted the mayor and he does not respond. By the way I am for the city to save money, but I do not want to see long term workers be replaced by contract help.

Wildcat,

You need to ignore Benny he has brown stuff on his ears due to where he has kept his head.  You can not a discussion with anybody that totes the party line.

Good luck if you preceed, I want an ignore function.  Tired of hearing the same old line.  It is Smith's problem and our savior Kris is doing the best he can to lead us to the promised land.  Nothing is his fault.

I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..
