I'm usually spot on at figuring out what's going on with my kids but this one is puzzeling me. Our 7 yr old keeps going to the nurse hyserically crying saying her ear, or throat, or stomach, or neck is hurting and she needs to go home. A few weeks ago she did have strep but has since been rechecked and was cleared. On thurs of last week nurse called and I had to go get her cause she was hysterical with her ear and throat but once home she seemed fine. On fri she was fine same for sat and sun. Then today she gets up and says her ear hurts. I gave her tylenol and non-drowsy allergy meds. Before nine the nurse called. She was there again.... I have asked her is anyone bothering her, she said no. Mothers out there, Any Ideas?

Is someone picking on her?

That is where I was going...talk to her teacher and see if she/he can give you any insight.

Could you go in and have lunch with her? Maybe you could see for yourself the problem.

Or she might have an intermittent earache. When she's at home she may not be complaining about it, because you are there with her. I would go ahead and take her to a doctor and have them check....rule out the possible real illness first, then find out if it's something else.
The kids have been oddly sick so far this school year. Temps that come and go, symptoms that come and go. You think they are faking it, but I found when I took them to the doctor...they really were sick. It's just this weirdness going on.
Is she sticking a pencil in her ear at school? Tell her to quit ;)

Well, when a boy on the bus was bothering her she told us and we talked to the bus driver and she said it's been taken care of. I am wondering if maybe its sinus pressure or something
Maybe she is struggling with something they are learning in class...

Remember God loves ya and loves your child even more.

Nothing can tug on your heart strings like one of your own. Good luck
I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..
Sorry I am a Daddy. Did not know you were looking for mothers.

OK. I only have true stories. I am a Daddy that love his girls more than anything else on this earth.
What I used to do when they had a bad day was get them up on my lap in my special recliner chair. I would then ask them how are you doing. Of couse I always had a bubble gum sucker at the time that they would be sampling.
I would start out by asking them how Momma woke them up that morning and let them go from there. I would make suggestions along the way.
Gosh I love my baby girls. By doing this type thing since birth they know they can always tell Daddy any thing or ask Daddy anything.
Children do not usually lie if they are in a comfortable place that they like with a bubble gum sucker. Daddy's lap in his favorite recliner.
I hope that you have a great day today and I that your tomorrow is even better than you can imagine..
