This morning I moved ever so slightly and my neck caught and involuntarily snapped backwards in two short, abrupt spasms. Since then, I've been in misery!

Not sure if it's an old car-accident-injury from 1994 that's become inflamed again, or if I've pinched a nerve, or what I've done, but Advil isn't cutting it. I did hot-shower treatment earlier, and that helped for a little while, but now it's tight and painful again. It's too high up to really get any relief from the jacuzzi jets in my bath. I think. I'll try that later tonight after everyone is gone or in bed.

Any ideas? Heat? Ice? Someone want to come just chop my head off for me?

And maybe I should add...I did nearly knock myself out with my car door yesterday when I was opening the door and looking at something on the driveway at the same time. It went WHACK and my teeth even rattled a bit. So maybe that has something to do with it?

Daisy, try ice, on for 20 min, off for 20 min.  If you leave it on for too long you can get frost bite (or freezer burn).  Try to lie down with a towel rolled under your neck (difficult to explain, but put the towel under your neck near your shoulders, so that your face is looking straight up, or even a bit back, kinda like when the kiddos lie on the couch with their feet in the air and their head hanging off watching tv upside down).

Note, I am not a physician and have no personal knowledge of your medical situation.  Nothing said here is to be taken as a diagnosis, or as specific medical advice.  All this is simply what I was told to tell patients who called with simular symptoms when I worked for a chiropractor.

Good luck.

I'll try that. I like the non-MD type suggestions because, IMO, they are better than the "pop 2 vicodin and call me in the morning" ones.
