A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS ..
.
2.Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3.Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4.Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
5.Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6.Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
8.Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.
9.Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
Take a moment today to thank God for your pets.

Ever consider what our dogs must think of us? I mean, here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul -- chicken, pork, half a cow. They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth!

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout..! run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
It is not length of life, but depth of life.

He's just my dog.
He has told me more than a thousand times over that I am his reason for being -- by the way he rests against my leg, by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile, by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him.
(I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me).
When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him,
I am only another person. With him, I am all powerful.
He has taught me the meaning of devotion is loyalty itself. With him, I
know the secret comfort and a private peace.
my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things.
He has promised to wait for me ... whenever ... wherever ...
Who is he? -- He's just -- MY DOG!
It is not length of life, but depth of life.

I love my dogs, all of them, even on good or bad days, they are always there. My oldest dog has been with me through sleepless nights, licked tears off my face, cried with me as I cried, but best of all when I was told that someone was getting rid of my dog, I simply said that dog will be here long after you are gone, and you know what, she is still by my side, and that person has been gone for several years.
In a few days it will be 6 years since I have to lay my ole best friend to rest... This time of year always fills my heart with some pain.. Don't get me wrong I think about times we shared almost daily.. but, at this time it is always the hardest part of the year..
Below are the words I wrote for her after my loss...
I really never knew the value of a pet till she touched my heart....
This is the year before I lost her.
"My Dog Vengeance has passed away".
She was born on Oct 19-1989 She died May 17-2003
We called her "Vengy dog"...
But her name was Vengeance because the Lord said..
"Vengeance is mine" so, I knew she would go to Heaven..
I had her by my side though all life ever fed me. She was the best part of me.
She seemed to understand me, and my ways. Only to love me anyway.
Everyday there by my side, never leaving far from my sight.
She and I traveling the roads of life.
Giving me Joy in sad times.
Peace in unstable ones.
She was always there to listen, even if she could not speak, to help me though the moment and lifes little peaks.
I will miss her immensely. Though thoughts will travel on.
Of a Man and his dog, the journeys they made,
together forever, companions for life.
Memories will stay of all the fun times, some of the bad one will burn in to light. Always, faithful, pride and true, my loving memories of my dog that was you.
Thanks to you all that welcomed my dog in your lives.
She loved you all, for your grace you did give, to a four legged pup.
You helped make her what she was, a heart of gold.
As her head was in my hand.
I knew she was at the end of her pain,
And it was time for her to go to a better land.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled her in my arms.
Were of her younger, puppy years,
And, OH. Her many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze,"
Only my heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
She passed to a better place, she's
Now knocking on Heavens door.
Thanks for you time in reading this,
Love, Life, Happiness & Peace please be with you all.

Border collie? Neat dog. We have had lots of dogs and I am contemplating getting another-maybe an Aussie. I loved the border collie on the farm but he sure would herd anything. Just a marvel to see them work cattle and sheep.

We love our pugs!
Mitzigirl was a chow mix that I had for 18 years and she was 2 when I got her from Humane Society. Two summers ago I had to put her down due to cancer, yes dogs can get cancer too. I thought it was going to kill me, as she was my best friend.
When I think about her now and all the years we had together, I still tear up.
well...I am a cat person. I lost my Smokey in July of 2006. I had her since she was 8 weeks old and she was 12 when she passed. I cried like a big ole baby. Then last September, we had to have our Mr. White put to sleep because of feline aids. He found us in the winter of 2006-2007 and officially became part of family during a big snow in January 2007. He was a talker....he let you know he was around. He wormed his way into my heart very quick. I miss them dearly....here are a couple pictures...you should be able to tell who is who because of the colors...
What?? You can't understand what I am saying? I am speaking plain penguin!!
