I'm thinking about buying a Ruger P944 .40calSW. Does anyone have any experience or opinions about them? I couldn't find anything negative on the net about them. I have a sweet little Walther PPKS.380 for carry but thought I would get a larger caliber.

Braveheart, Ollie would appreciate your sharing with him any information you get on that Ruger since he's looking for a 'piece' that is easy to carry, easy to conceal, hard to discover during a pat-down and, most importantly, is still big enough that it won't slide down his pant leg at council meetings or in the 'slammer'.

Braveheart, the Porsche (or Hummer, depending on how you look at it) of handguns is the Taurus Raging Bull with Casull .454 300 grain bullets.  It is the weapon of choice for Alaskan trappers since it will stop a grizzly dead in its tracks.  You shoot a box of those bad boys and you'll have to ice your shoulder!  Totally impractical but you'll never forget the sound or the 'kick'.
