I want to say this...

I agree with the need for more "family friendly" events in Anderson, but I don't know that the problem rests with the city officials.  I believe that they try, but they can't control the behavior of those who attend the events.  I have stayed away from many events that could have been lots of fun for my children because of the other people who would be there that would ruin the fun.

Now, as for the parade.  I am usually in the parade in some capacity, I have only watched from the side walk twice.  I will say that from my view last year was much better than past years as far as crowd control.  Typically it is difficult to tell who is in the parade and who is just walking down the street (or across the street between the the entries), but last year I saw more police presence and no one interferred with our travels.

I agree, there were quite a few more officers on scene, they have a tough job everyday, but some of those people I don't know how they maintain their cool and don't let more people borrow their pretty shiney bracelettes!

Too many crackheads, drunks and thugs. That's the problem with the midnight parade and the free fair. Perhaps if their were laws against these types of people breeding those events would be better for people that act civilized. I will go but will ignore the idiots.
