                           Grandma's Old Clock

Here's a photo of my grandma's old clock. It's an 8 day mantel clock with a Waterbury movement. It has bell sound for the half hour and gong for the hours. It has some cut nails (1820-1910) and some wire nails (circa 1890) a cellulose face marked (Manufactured By Waterbury Clock Co. USA.) But I would find it a stretch to say it was a real Waterbury though because there are some fit and finish issues that don't play in. I believe it was a mail order clock movement in a homemade case. Still a very attractive clock. I heard there were small shops that made up these fakes to sell to the less fortunate folks that couldn't afford a real Waterbury. And the Lord knows grandma was very frugal. Anyway grandma died in 1976 and left it to us. The old clock didn't keep time and would just stop so we just never wound it. It spent a lot of time in storage in the attic. I acquired it several years ago just because I thought it was neat to look at and had thought of getting it repaired. I had it setting on a solid wood table in the corner and I live in a building built on a cement slab. So for years it was stopped at 9:25 and completely unwound. On July 25, 2009 it started up and ran until the time you now see. And so what's the significance of all this....Grandma was born on July 25, 1889 120 years earlier.

My Dad died exactly one year to the day after my brother.  Both were named Russell  That is why I picked rusty as my screen name.  

After my Dad died I went to his house and seen his then wife.  I told her that my Dad wanted me to pick up some things from the house.  She did not have a problem.  I then told her where I wanted to pick up each item and she had no idea there were even there.  I think he came to me and told me what he wanted his kids to have.  She is still baffled and did not care what I picked up.  Items included an antique 22, a new chrome 45, a pocket watch, and other items.

I do not know how I knew where but it happened.

Things that make you want to go HMMMMMMMM really kind of cool to think about....(help from the grave) or did you feel a presence? 

 

So jacquline...tell us about your haunting,do you live in a new house or an old house? Is it noises,lights turning off,doors slamming,moved objects you see ghosts or what? You see someone other than yourself in the mirror...dang now I'm skeered to look in gramma's old hall mirror.

OWO   I had dreams before I went there and I think that is where I got the notion what he wanted me to do.  Who knows.  I do not.  Your question:  In my dreams I seen him but when I was at his house I heard him.

If anybody wants to know I was not on drugs or alcohol.  I told my wife and others that I do not know how.

Perhaps it was a premonition I did not think about drug or alcohol at all.
