Well, since the other "For the kids" thread went off topic (although entertaining though it is)... I am looking for ideas for tomorrow evening. Not crazy about the door to door thing, although we may just a little. What I am really looking for is something fun for my kiddos to do. I do enjoy the "Trunk or Treat" concept, what ruins it for me everytime is the kiddos whose parents look at these events as a chance to be kid-free for a few hours and drop the kids off and leave them with no supervision ('nuff said). We did the mall last night, I admit that I was a bit disappointed, but the pumpkin painting was fun.

Well, you could bring 'em over to Geezer Acres to pick up some "spooky walnuts" and rake up some "Halloween leaves", all you can haul. Good exercise and FREE, FREE. FREE!

Thanks, I am wishful that Mr. Wind will blow all my leaves into my neighbors yard before I get home today.

Is their anything going on at Davies Park out on W 32? When mine were younger they all ways had things going on. One year they had a haunted trail ( not to scary, but fun for the kids ) where they gave out candy and treats at different stops with some even having games. Inside they had snacks and a story teller. The kids liked it.
I saw in the paper today where they have a road between 28 and 128 (200) tht will be lined with thousands of pumpkin faces. Twist on looking at christmas lights. Also, my sister-in-law took two of my girls to the Mounds State Park for their Haunted Trail. One of my girls was 7 and her boys are all under 10. They seemed to be ok with it. It was 5$ a car load and $4 a person. Doesn't sound cheap but when compared to the prices of the Haunted Housed our 15 yr old went to, it's pretty cheap.
Our Halloween consists of my husband and brother-in-law taking the kids around a chesterfield neighborhood (where the in-laws live). The police have always been VERY present, I like that a lot. They even hand out candy from their car (although not sure they can afford it this year, check today's paper lol) and my sister-in-law and I dress up and pass out candy from her garage. (If they look old enough sometimes we jump out from behind the tree and scare them). I have a wonderful witch laugh and it really scares them! I love it
I drove that road that the pumpkin faces are on...it was a joke. All it consisted of is little wooden stakes with pumpkin faces drwn on them and stuck in the ground along side of the road. not worth my time....
“Sure, the lion is king of the jungle but airdrop him into Antarctica, & he's just a penguin's bitch”
THANK YOU ZIA! I would've been so disappointed. Tobi- nix that idea lol
THE MAN THAT MAKES ALL THE PUMPKINS HAS MADE ALOT OF MONEY OFF OF THE SALES OF THEM.LAST YEAR HB DID A WRITE UP ON HIM AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAS DROVE DOWN HIS ROAD AND JUST LOVED IT.THEY SHOWED PIC'S OF THEM ALL UP AND DOWN THE ROAD .I COULD SEE THE LITTLE ONES LIKING IT...
BEFOR YOU TAKE THE LITTLE ONES OUT TONIGHT PLEASE THINK OF THIER HEALTH AND H1N1 IS OUT THERE AND THIS IS A GOOD NJGHT TO SPREAD IT ALONG .SO MANY KIDS WILL BE OUT TALK YOUR KIDS IN TO STAYING IN AND BUYING THE CANDY FOR THEM AND DOING SOMETHING WITH THE KIDS AT HOME. I WOULD HATE TO THINK CANDY COULD BE THE DOWN FALL OF OUR KIDS I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS FUN SO CAN A NIGHT AT HOME PLAYING GAMES AND LOVING EACH OTHER AND BEING SAFE...
Well, we hit Granny's neighborhood for a bit then froze our tushies off at the Madison Park Church of God, along with many many other people.
She got just enough candy to feel like she got alot, but not enough that Mom Dad have to help eat it. lol
