Should You Approach Your Black Friday Shopping Experience like a Ninja or like a Pirate?
To be honest, I'm not sure where the fascination with ninjas versus pirates came from, but the differences between the two groups can be applied to many things in life. While it might not seem so, the Black Friday shopping season is one area that will separate the ninjas from the pirates.
At Dawn
Ninja
Having gone to bed at a reasonable hour Thanksgiving night, the ninja shopper is up bright and early, ready to sneak in for the best deals. Before the sun is even up, they're in their car ready to hit their first store.
Pirate
Sleep? Pirates don't need no stinking sleep. Pirates are still up from the night before on Black Friday. With visions of plundering sales on their minds, though, they pile into their SUVs and head for the malls. Well, after a quick bite to eat and some friendly bickering with their mates.
At Morning
Ninja
The ninja has already gotten in and out of the top three stores on their list. They were able to slip in and get the exact item they were looking for with a hefty discount. They're so good, some of the other shoppers never realize they were there.
Pirate
After breakfast and some horseplay at the local fast food establishment, the pirates make their way to the mall, a little upset that there's no close parking. Gar, they shout, and park deep in the rows, singing songs as they make the hike to the stores for their bounty.
At Noon
Ninja
Around noon the ninja is in their car having a quick bite to eat. They just have five more stops and they're good to go with all the deals they wanted to catch.
Pirate
Still not finding any good loot, pirates break off in groups to get some lunch in the cafeteria section of the mall. They're loud and obnoxious and almost get asked to leave the mall altogether.
At Midafternoon
Ninja
The ninja has just completed their final mission, snagging the last available talking WhoompaWhoompa doll. Wrapping it carefully in two bags so no one notices that they have it, they take their purchase to stash in the car before driving home.
Pirate
After lunch, and a short nap in the furniture store, the pirate wakes up to find his mates missing. Confused and hungry again, he lumbers from store to store, looking for mischief or his friends, whatever comes first.
At Evening
Ninja
The ninja is at home enjoying microwave popcorn and watching selections from the DVR. All is right with the world.
Pirate
The pirate, desperate to find a deal, ends up buying two bags of stuff he didn't really want. It was on sale, though, so he reckoned he had gotten a great deal.
I guess I would be a Ninja, sometimes not quite as eager as some people, I am not the one fighting or yelling over someone grabbing the last doll, usually taking hubby along to get those items on the top shelves that I cannot reach!
Loving the online deals, no crowds, no mean people, nothing but sitting at my computer and ordering what I want, then waiting on the delivery man to get here with it.
You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life.
unless you have a video with J-Lo in a starring role....or roll....

If they were gonna name a day of the week after me, I wish they'd have picked a better day than crappy old Monday. Wednesday would have been appropriate (Cyber-Hump Day!).
I go out to the stores early with my sister inlaw, I have all my shopping done by Thanksgiving but I go with her, I get a cart and I get into peoples way just for fun
