Mak, I must truthfully report to you that my ‘r’ on the keyboard depressed itself twice and thus the incorrect spelling. I am much, much, too perfect to have done this myself. The usage, as correctly spelled, is correct. Note the following:
demur (v.)
c.1225, "to linger, tarry," from O.Fr. demorer "delay, retard," from L. demorari, from de- + morari "to delay," from mora "a pause, delay." Main modern sense of "raise objections" is first attested 1639.
Thus, one can, and should, demur from posting, delay posting, tarry from posting, retard their posting, etc. when using questionable English. A good example of correct usage is as follows: CC-Gal should demur from participating because she “find(s) it difficult to get into the spell check/grammar mode over here.”
“Fear not the soul of a poet, for it is yours to develop, to keep, and to use.” Words of OldWiseOne, 2007.
Since that is not the current understood meaning of the word then you failed to communicate. You may have chosen to use a word that was technically correct but since it was not the meaning that your audience held for the word then you failed at the communication. I am willing to chalk it up to a good reason though. I believe you were quiite likely around in 1225 to have witnessed the birth of the word. That is the only way I could see someone being so delusional about their perfection or as argumentative as you are.
PD, the following is the post that I prepared for posting before I read your last post. I am still posting it so it dosen't go to waste, but I may withdraw it later -- let me think about it. It is kind of sharp...
Two points PatriotDan: 1} you have absolutely no idea whatsoever of who I am, and it is not important; }2 What is important is you knowing that this is all tongue-in-cheek fun. Of course I want people to exchange contrary ideas with me. That is what internet posting is all about. Don’t start whining and crying now; I have seen many of your posts and they can be very, very sharp. So what if you mis-typed something – I do it all the time. No big deal. And my comments pointing out grammar and usage are no big deal, either. You remind me of Ty Bibbs. You also remind me of the Minute-Men patriots who ran when the British arrived. Some patriot you are. A growth of back-bone awaits you. Stop whining and crying…and lighten up. When the sky really begins to fall, I will be the first to tell you.

That is a fair post. I will be happy to respond to it. First and foremost, the grammar posts were understood to be tongue in cheek and that is what I returned. My apologies if that was not clear.
Secondly, and in reverse order or you comments I might add, is the issue of your identity. Your choice of words and phrasing of things leads my to my belief that you are Cookie Parker. I have not wish to have any conversation with her. It isn't that she has done anything personally to me or that I even dislike her. There is ample evidence though that talking to her is a pointless exercise and that she readily causes problems for people. If you are not cookie then you have my most humble apology. In either case, it is only fair to treat my thoughts as assumptions and give you the benefit of the doubt. If you are in fact Cookie then I know it won't take too long for you to melt down and reveal the true colors.
As a side note, while I can certainly be convinced to change my opinion and hence my stance on something, I am not much into the running away thing. I am as much of a fighter as I am a lover
I don't know the history of 'cookie parker' to be honest.
I don't want to see the type of poster on here who baits others into empassioned responses, though. (OWO, put down the dictionary, k?)
I'm willing to give everyone here the benefit of the doubt at this time. I just ask that as we move forward, we do it carefully, as if Table Rasa is in effect.

Oh no, not Kookie Porker! Say it ain't so OWO!
Don't tell me about the labor pains, show me the baby!
Hmmm. I fear I have started something I might regret.
Com N Sense, it is my thought that OWO is cookie. That isn't a confirmed fact.
PD, when given the chance, any sane person would deny being KP. Say it ain't so OWO!

That's the key phrase. :)

This is just a warning ...
Carry on. :)
