Now that kpaul has weighed in, and has given out his warning, I feel my rights of expression have been substantially chilled, and therefore have nothing more to say.

Taking the warning a little hard aren't you?

I thought it was an appropriate warning.

And no denial from OWO. THAT's how a potential problem gets bagged early.

Personally, I didn't think anyone had gotten out of line.  I think Patriot Dan may have suffered a bit of premature ejaculation in pulling the Cookie card, though.  JMHO.

OWO, it wasn't leveled to you alone.

And it might've been a bit premature on my part, but it happened and it's out there.

Best we all just move along and try to be civil (which, for the most part we all already are. Pretty amazing, actually. I don't want a few people to ruin it for the majority of people, though. And again, no finger pointing to anyone here.)

Thanks,

kpaul

I shared a suspicion. I did it in a polite manner and without calling anyone names. When I felt I may have been wrong I apologized and moved on. Nothing seminal involved but thanks for thinking of me.

You have to watch this kind of thing Sippy. Salmon is REALLY jealous of his sheep. He doesn't like to share.

Mak, I must truthfully report to you that my ‘r’ on the keyboard depressed itself twice and thus the incorrect spelling. I am much, much, too perfect to have done this myself. The usage, as correctly spelled, is correct. Note the following: demur (v.) c.1225, "to linger, tarry," from O.Fr. demorer "delay, retard," from L. demorari, from de- + morari "to delay," from mora "a pause, delay." Main modern sense of "raise objections" is first attested 1639. Thus, one can, and should, demur from posting, delay posting, tarry from posting, retard their posting, etc. when using questionable English. A good example of correct usage is as follows: CC-Gal should demur from participating because she “find(s) it difficult to get into the spell check/grammar mode over here.”

LMAO! Oh, the old sticky "r" routine huh? Come on OWO, you're stretching this one and you know it. And even if you expect me to swallow this "demur from" thingy- you must realize that in your post to PD you asked him to "demur TO" others. I'm pretty impressed with what you came up with there though. It could almost squeak by- but just get out the oil and admit you're one of us mistake makers.
